In The Spotlight: Project Be The Change
In the face of adversity, some people will fold. Others, will use it as a source of motivation to build a better life.
That's the case with John Paul Engel, author of Project Be The Change, a self-help book that launched his motivational speaking career geared towards helping kids reach their dreams.
Engel's background is what inspired this project. The readers digest version goes like this: John was born with brain damage, addicted to drugs and deemed unadoptable. He flunked kindergarten and was put in special education classes. John went on to earn academic scholarships, work at the Federal Reserve on briefing materials for Chairman Greenspan, and earn an International MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He has worked in 12 countries on board level projects.
In this edition of "In the Spotlight," Technorati chatted with John about his story, how he faced adversity and built a successful business as a result.

Every time I have faced a challenge it has made me stronger and enabled me to climb higher. Real growth happens in the hardest moments in life. These are the moments that make you strong. The new life I am building is going to be even better because of the tests I have endured.
TR: What has surprised you about your career as you've faced adversity?
