Courtney Love and Daughter Frances Bean Embroiled in Custody Battle
Just when I think I'm having a bad day, I check in on our favorite trainwreck Courtney Love and realize I just don't have it that bad.
Word broke yesterday about Courtney Love losing custody of her 17-year old daughter Frances Bean. Frances is the only child of Love and deceased Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. For the most part, Frances has led a pretty quiet life away from the spotlight, but in the last year there have been rumors and mumblings she's tried to distance herself from her increasingly erratic mother.
The official word is a guardianship was set up for Frances, appointing Kurt's mom, Wendy Cobain, and his sister, Kimberly Dawn, as the guardians. The guardianship was set up to protect Frances Bean and her financial future, however, the guardians have no stake in the trust set up after Kurt Cobain's death. Courtney and her behavior are at the center of the guardianship and the courts and lawyers had plenty of ammunition in proving Courtney was unfit to act on Frances' best behalf.
Courtney, who was in court recently for a lawsuit brought against her on defamation charges, has been all over the tabloids due to her sometimes insane social media ramblings on both Twitter and Facebook and occasionally her own blog. Courtney spoke out about the guardianship and her daughter on her Facebook with mixed reactions to her typically indecipherable blather, including comments about her parenting style, her publicly airing private matters, and, oddly, years old references to her involvement in Kurt's death, which was ruled a suicide.
Courtney should probably keep quiet about her daughter, or, at the very least, enroll in some rudimentary English classes.
