HBO's True Blood Casts Another Major Character From Book Series: Alcide Herveaux
Great news for True Blood fans (myself included). CNN is reporting HBO's True Blood creators have cast another major character from the Sookie Stackhouse series by author Charlaine Harris: werewolf Alcide Herveaux.
Alcide, another love interest for barmaid and telepath Sookie Stackhouse (portrayed by Anna Paquin) will be played by One Tree Hill's Joe Manganiello.
In the book series, Alcide is introduced in the third novel, Club Dead. Alcide is sent by the ancient vampire Eric Northman (played by the super sexy Alex Skarsgard) to help Sookie find her abducted boyfriend Vampire Bill (Stephen Moyer). As with most of the major "supes" in the book, Sookie and Alcide have immediate sexual chemistry, but their relationship is complicated by outside entanglements.
Joe Manganiello is a natural fit for the character of Alcide, who is often described as handsome, rugged and hot-blooded. God, don't you just love this show...sigh! Thank you Alan Ball.
Just for fun, here's some more pics of our newest werewolf. You're welcome!
