Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock may have looked like a winner as soon as she stepped onto the red carpet at the Oscar’s, however, the versatile actress was pretty amazed she won Best Actress for her portrayal of Leigh Anne Tuohy in The Blind Side.  "I didn't aspire to this," she told People.com after her big win. "I was in awe of it. I admired it."

Regardless of whether or not Sandra expected to win big on Oscar night, one thing is for certain; she was stunning in the shimmering metallic and lace Marchesa gown she wore. The way her fabulous figure fit in the astonishingly detailed dress made Bullock look absolutely gorgeous.

Her toned arms and slim waistline prove that this actress has a fitness routine that works for her. To stay in shape, Sandra loves variety. It has been reported she sticks to a regular workout program just about every day. However, she doesn’t get bent out of shape if she misses a day here and there. It’s more about making fitness a lifestyle than anything else.

Mixing aerobics with strength training, Bullock, age 45, runs, bikes, and incorporates kickboxing into her regular fitness regimen. She likes plyometrics and using weights in her strength training workouts to get the best results from each muscle group. She’s found, like most women, that mixing your workout with different exercises is a good way to stay in shape and get outstanding results.

Plyometrics is a type of exercise that enables a muscle to reach its maximum force in the shortest amount of time. By stretching the muscle first and then quickly following with an activity that requires force such as jumping or sprinting, the muscle will produce optimum results. For runners, plyometrics is a great way to increase speed. For women who want to take their fitness to the next level, plyometrics may be the exercise regimen you need.

After a long cold winter, spring is near and summer will follow soon after. To get in shape for swimsuit season, consider a fitness program like Bullock’s that combines strength training and aerobics. Once you’ve become accustomed to an exercise routine that you enjoy, consider trying plyometrics or circuit training to keep things interesting. Most importantly, get out and get as much exercise and activity as you can handle.

Winners like Bullock know what it takes to stay in shape: a healthy diet and plenty of exercise.
