Many suspect the video was produced by the Church of Scientology themselves, and in light of this latest lawsuit and restraining order attempt, the motive would now be apparent.

Anonymous professes to have no leaders, but rather, are a loosely banded group of people hoping to educate the public to the many crimes they feel are perpetuated by the organization behind Scientology. Many videos have been released in conjunction with the protests on YouTube, most of which highlight specific illegal activities of the Church of Scientology or past events which have raised suspicion. The first video, titled Anonymous vs. Scientology appeared in mid-January and was a response to the cease and desist letter issued regarding the Tom Cruise KSW video leaked and subsequently hosted by Gawker after YouTube caved and removed it. That video has received well over 2 million views and has been taken down and put up several times by YouTube since it first appeared.

Anonymous hopes to recreate the success of their first protests by assembling peacefully and exercising their right to free speech. There were no major incidents or significant problems with the first protest and Anonymous has emphasized the importance of abiding by local ordinances and protesting by educating, not harassing. Many Anonymous members choose to wear masks or disguises to protect their identity which they feel is necessary due Scientology's aggressive litigious history in silencing its critics.

If Anonymous' numbers are correct, and they are successful at quadrupling their numbers for the March 15th protests, they could have as many as 28,000, or more than half of the estimated numbers of actual Scientologists world wide. While the CoS has claimed at times to having 8 million members, experts tend to agree a number much closer to 50,000 is more realistic, with 100,000 being a very generous estimate.

Glosslip will be at the protest on Saturday covering the event live from Washington, DC. A broadcast on the www.BlogTalkRadio.com will be announced in the coming days.
