And from what I understand, an "intervention" is when a family insists that a junkie, alcoholic, mentally ill person, etc, receive intensive help at that moment, no delays, no questions, go directly to whatever treatment facility has been chosen and begin that moment to receive help...or a series of consequences will happen, usually the withdrawal of family help and support and even contact. Just a bit of a problem with that scenario...Brit is the one doing the helping and supporting of her family, instead of the other way around, and by all accounts she's had no contact with them anyway. To do a true "intervention" would just hurt Brit's family financially, but have no real effect on her. What are they going to say, "Go to a facility or we won't have any further contact with you"? How is that any different than what they've been doing? Plus, they keep saying "rehab", when what she needs is mental health treatment, because it is unknown at this point what role alcohol or drugs, if any, play in this situation. Plus, I'm fairly sure it's supposed to be a surprise. So I don't think this is a true intervention, in the strict sense of the word. Maybe it's a strong talking-to, but it certainly isn't an intervention.
So basically, Brit has two controlling men on either side of her trying to make money off her "derriere in a magazine", two parents who finally decided to show up, an untreated mental health issue, possible PMS problems, and a custody battle which looks increasingly bleak. I'd check myself into a mental health facility just to get some rest.
I do agree with Osmarmy about one thing...if this keeps up we'll be seeing the funeral of Britney Spears before the year is up...even before summer.
