So how did this guy get out of the system, if he is such a danger to himself and others? I'm sure his parents are distraught...they seem like nice enough people, and it was his father who bonded him out. But did they really expect to be able to keep an obviously mentally ill man who is almost fifty years old contained in their home? I don't know their age, but I would guess them to be in their seventies, and they should know they can't control this man. The court found him fit to stand trial, and not to be held, even though he has clearly exhibited signs of mental illness and has spent time in a hospital being treated for it.Â
This is, unfortunately, one of the prices of fame...people who believe that you are actually a part of their lives, when you're successful enough at breaking down the fourth wall separating you from your audience. Sadly enough, those who cannot distinguish between reality and celebrity are all-too prevalent. But this man's parents need to realize (as they have said they do) that he needs help beyond what they can provide him, and he needs to be in a place where he can be watched so that he does not hurt anyone.
