Did Madonna Brainwash A-Rod? - Page 2
Why is it that people want to take career advice from cult practitioners, when it's been pretty obvious that the advice is always bad? Just look at Tom Cruise's career lately for proof of that. Not content to ruin his own career with Scientology advice, he felt the need to ruin his wife's career as well. Will Alex be the latest to throw his career away for the grasping hands of a greedy pseudoreligion?
So, basically it boils down to this: A-Rod was in search of answers after a disappointing 2007 season. Madonna came along when he was ripe for the picking (as these sorts of people often do, they can smell fear) with her brand of answers in the form of a ritualistic cult. A-Rod doesn't know any better and falls for the slick words and empty promises. Somewhere along the way, he goes into heat and falls in lust with Madonna. He ignores his family and is distracted on the baseball field. His wife, understandably upset, files for divorce with this being the last straw (he's never been known for his fidelity).
But let's just call it like it is. I don't think he's fallen under any sort of "mystic spell". Rather, like most people who don't know what they believe or stand for, he was easy pickings for somebody like Madonna to come along, with her magnetic personality and slick words and red strings and magic water, to try and convert him into her cult. Along with all his money, of course. It isn't any more "mystical" than that.
Oh, and like Dawn said yesterday, Madonna is so getting a divorce, but it's going to have to wait until after her tour.
I'm already tired of writing about these chuckleheads and it's barely begun.
