Moving on to BlogWorld Expo.

Major shoutouts to Patti H. and Rick C. at BlogWorldExpo for putting together another great show. This year was special as we (Blogcritics.org) shared a booth with our new parent company, Technorati, whom we met at last year's expo! Technorati's own CEO, Richard Jalichandra gave the keynote address on the opening day, which featured the full presentation of the annual "State of the Blogosphere Address". Richard was great, and I am not just saying that because he's the boss. I am saying that in spite of the fact I was still suffering from the "social lubricants" from the party the night before at Bare Lounge, sponsored by TechSet. The was a GREAT party. At least what I remember of it ;)

Chief Geek Phillip Winn and Glosslip's Dawn Olsen - Needs Caption!!!!

The first day was fun AND busy. We worked the booth with our new pals at Technorati, Max and the two Daves (last names left off to protect the innocent) as well as, our Chief Geek, Blogcritics Technical Director Phillip Winn and our executive editor, Lisa McKay.

Also present and extremely helpful, was BC writer Clayton Perry who helped set up the booth and talked to countless individuals about the benefits of writing for Blogcritics.org (they own Glosslip).

There were rumors that Film Editor El Bicho, Sports Editor (s) Matt Sussman and TuffyR were also working the booth, but they were "attending seminars, speaking at panels" (ie. booth slacking - see El Bicho to the right and Matt and Tuffy below pretending to work.)

I spent the second half of the day hanging out with the charismatic and charming Ian Halperin. Ian, who runs the awesome entertainment news site, IanUnderCover.com, and is a NYT bestselling author, was there to premiere his new film, His Highness Hollywood. We talked to the huge crowd of BWE attendees luring them with offers of free popcorn, beer and an entertaining film which screened that afternoon at the Expo.

We had a nice crowd for the film and it was very-well received. We handed out copies of the freshly pressed DVD and Ian did a Q&A, discussing the process that went into filming his documentary (more on the film here, see trailer here.) and we had a surprise visit from Las Vegas Anonymous, who stealthfully entered and almost exited without my knowing (they are great at infiltrating). Special thanks to our friends at Anonymous for joining us and taking part in the event. We hope they enjoyed the behind the scenes look at the Church of Scientology, featured in Ian's film.
