Another highlight of this year's expo was hanging out with the always (and I mean ALWAYS) ebullient, effervescent and handsome Amir F. from 310.tv. Amir and his boss Joe have been HUGE advocates of Glosslip (they read it for the articles, "k's" articles that is!) and signed us up a while back (look to the right sidebar) on their mobile blog platform, which works on most cell phones and smart phones (iPhones, Blackberry etc.).

310.tv/Snakkmedia is a media company which takes regular bloggy posts and news articles and makes it compatible for hand-held devices so you can get your news and and entertainment on the go. This is the WAY of the future, as more people than ever are relying on their portable devices to keep them connected. How cool are they! We are SUPER-excited to be working with them, and encourage you to use their service to get all the latest news, especially Glosslip (hint, hint).

Because of Amir and Joe, we were able to hook up with the Zannel.com people, which is best described as multi-media twittering. I have set up a Zannel page which you can find here, www.zannel.com/glosslip and I will be making a point of posting everyday, and once I upgrade to a Blackberry, I can Zannel on the go. Thanks to Jo and all the folks at Zannel for helping me out. I did do some Zanneling at BWE on the BWE channel.

Another exciting moment was meeting Nic Adler, owner of the L.A. rock club the Roxy, whose father, Lou Adler is one of the greatest music producers in the world. Nic, brother of musician/producer Cisco Adler, was there to speak on a great panel (moderated by none other than BC's Eric Olsen) about the power of social media. Nic, through the use of social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and the Roxy's own blogsite was able to transform the historic club back to its prominence in the L.A. music scene by embracing these media tools. I seized on the opportunity to meet Nic and like any starstruck doofus, proclaimed my fondness for his brother's new band Shwayze (Cisco was former front-man to rockband Whitestarr).

Nic Adler, Dawn Olsen - It was THIS big!

Nic was personable and gracious, and like me, a huge fan of his brother's music. Nic and I discussed the importance of connecting with your audience using tools like Twitter and Facebook and how the landscape of promotions and marketing have changed since blogging became a media staple. Nic also wore a very cool hat. Hats are zexy!
