Metropolitan Police Desperately Searching For Evidence That Amy Winehouse Takes Drugs
Metropolitan Police are reported to be searching for any evidence that soulful singer Amy Winehouse takes drugs. In particular, they are looking for anything that would show that she is involved with drugs such as ecstasy and cocaine:
Amy Winehouse is facing a police probe following the emergence of a shocking video that showed the star apparently smoking crack cocaine.Police are examining the tape, after the tearful singer resurfaced yesterday to visit a rehab clinic.
The visit comes as the Metropolitan Police confirmed it would investigate the claims that she was smoking crack cocaine, taking other drugs such as Ecstasy and cocaine, and admitting downing six Valium on video.
A copy of the film was handed over at the request of the Metropolitan Police. The film was passed to Tower Hamlets detectives who are now analysing it.
Despite previous reports, it now seems that Amy is not in an inpatient rehab, but rather some sort of outpatient doctor treatment sort of thing.
In the meantime, Amy's father Mitch was quoted in what may be the understatement of the year:
"Amy has some of the best doctors in the world looking after her. I know they'd be pleased with her progress. But in light of this, we may have to ramp up that support. Amy is very sick."
Police continue to search for hard, irrefutable evidence that Amy is involved with drugs. But given the history of prominent drug users in the UK to receive slaps on the wrist in lieu of actual punishment (reference Pete Doherty, who has been given more chances at reform than Parliament, and Kate Moss, who simply refused to admit that she was doing drugs on that famous videotape), it is unlikely that any actual charges will be filed, even if definitive proof is found.
It is worth noting here the irony of Blake Whatever-Whatever, who sits and rots in jail after being accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice and causing grievous bodily harm, is facing a lengthy jail term, while it is entirely possible his wife could walk free if she just refuses to say anything incriminating against herself.
We at GlossLip will keep you updated if any new developments occur or if the police find any shred of irrefutable proof of Amy's drugtaking.
The case continues.
