Certainly Rihanna's scars will heal and she will return to her former beautiful self in time. But what happens to her inside and those who love her and look up to her, the scars we can't see, only time will tell how those will be addressed.
I predict this whole incident will ultimately be handled by, well, handlers. The LA County police department let these photos be leaked, either by accident (they claim they NEVER release victim's pics, uh-huh) or on purpose. The prosecutors office seems to be having a hard time drumming up the kind of charges a non-famous person would face for similar actions. WOW, shocking, different rules apply to celebrities. OJ Simpson showed us that, as has Phil Spector and Robert Blake.
Violence happens in the real world all the time, women are beaten, children abused, people are killed, this however, does NOT make it ok. What Chris Brown did is NOT ok and he should not be let off the hook simply because he has a cute smile and is famous. If we are going to make an example of Michael Phelps toking on bong, hadn't we better make an example of Chris Brown beating a woman and trying to choke her to death?
Happy Birthday Ri-Ri!! I hope you are able to enjoy turning 21 today. PLEASE don't take Chris back. Break the cycle of violence. Be brave.
