Sam Who? Britney Wants No Further Contact With Former Pal
Oh yeah. Great news!
It seems that Britney Spears, on a quest to clean all the junk outta her life, has decided to kick former hanger-down Sam Lufti to the curb, and he can stay there as far as she's concerned:
"Britney has made clear to everyone that she does not want to be further harassed or contacted in any way by Osama 'Sam' Lutfi, now or at anytime in the future," Spears' attorney Samuel D. Ingham III said in a statement to The Associated Press.Lutfi, for the time being, seems willing to go along with those wishes.
He called the AP late Wednesday and released the following statement: "Mr. Lutfi and Mr. Spears have mutually agreed in private that no hearing or order is necessary at this time."
He declined further comment. [...]
It is unclear how long Spears' affairs will remain under her father's control, but Ingham wrote that he does not expect her feelings about Lutfi to change.
"If Mr. Lutfi makes any future attempt to contact Britney after the temporary conservatorship has concluded, Britney has made clear she will take all appropriate legal action," Ingham wrote.
Schweet!
Remember, today is the day that all concerned are due back in court. It was supposed to be to see if the conservatorship should be made permanent, but instead they are going to look into other issues. Perhaps that decision isn't ready to be made just yet. And that's okay...if Brit isn't ready to take over her own life again, but could be ready in the future, nothing wrong with delaying it a bit. As long as she continues to get well, that's all that matters.
Oh, and about that little pseudo-scandal with one of her sons trying to grab her smokes at her pool? First of all, that was her own backyard, so people should respect her privacy. Second, if you took everyone who smokes and asked them how many times their little kids had grabbed their ciggies when they weren't looking, we'd have a monumental number. Yes, Brit should have put them up somewhere where her kids can't get to them, but she's a little out of practice. If this keeps up several months from now, maybe it will need to be addressed, but one slipup does not an unfit parent make. So yeah. Non-issue. Next!
