HBO's True Blood - Season 3 - Alex Skarsgard Gets (Almost) Naked, Spoiler Alert
During a panel held by The Paley Center for Media on Thursday, True Blood writers Alan Ball, Alexander Woo, Nancy Oliver, Brian Buckner, Kate Barnow, and Elisabeth Finch gathered to discuss the upcoming third season with the media and fans.
For fans waiting for the next season to arrive (June 2010) any news about what to expect in the upcoming season helps satiate their appetite for the popular, sexy series which follows telepathic barmaid Sookie Stackhouse and her adventures in the supernatural world.
The writer's panel did reveal some spoilers and juicy tidbits viewers can expect in Season 3 and beyond. Here are the highlights from True-Blood.net:
- Vampire Eric Northman, played by actor Alex Skarsgard will appear virtually nude throughout the first episode of S3. Thumbs up to that.
- Do not expect any celebrity stunt casting - condolences to Snoop Dog.
- Vampire Bill's whereabouts will be revealed in the first episode.
- For those concerned about the unraveling relationship between Bill and Sookie: “Bill will not be marginalized. Bill and Sookie will have troubles, but Bill and Sookie have a connection that will not die.” This is good news!
- Eric Northman WILL get amnesia in Season 4. Does this mean we can expect to see Sookie and Eric consummate their growing attraction? One can only hope.
- Head writer Alan Ball acknowledges fans disapproval of actress Evan Rachel Wood cast at the Queen of Louisiana, shrugs it off. I disapprove heavily of Evan Rachel Wood dating co-star Alex Skarsgard in real life - I demand a rewrite.
- Fan Q&A: lots of new characters in season 3, including possibility of the Newlins; Maryann is totally dead; the theme for season 3 is “identity”; Sookie will be driven to find out more about what/who she is. Good riddance Maryann, icky Newlins, think Tinkerbell for Sookie origin ??
