The American Idol Ladies Took the Stage Last Night
The top 10 ladies took the stage on American Idol last night. The cream is rising to the top and the rest, are well.....not. We had some outstanding moments, and there is definitely an emerging pattern of players here.
Top Performances of the night:
Crystal Bowersox: She is so original, real, raw and amazing. Crystal covered Creedance Clearwater Revival's "Long as I Can See the Light". She is a pleasure to watch. Simon payed her the ultimate compliment. He compared her performance tonight to the moment he realized they may have a real talent in Kelly Clarkson. Kelly has some wicked pipes on her, and Crystal is pure original and magic on stage. Even more remarkable, she managed to deliver her performance while still recovering from a mysterious illness which had her hospitalized, and pushed back the ladies performances an entire day
Lilly Scott: Covered Sam Cooke's "A Change is Gonna Come" and did it her way. She is true to her own style, love love love, her indie artist vibe. I am never guessing who or what she is. A real standout again.
Katelyn Epperly: Covered Cold Play: "The Scientist". It was a mesmerizing performance, she played the piano and sang. Katelyn was, as Simon said, "a million times better then last week." I knew it, I knew it, I knew it. She has it, she just has to bring it, and she did.
Siobhan Magnus: That dark horse just keeps on a comin'. She covered "Think" Aretha Franklin, and quite frankly I was afraid before she started. That's one mean song to sing and Aretha is the shit. Big shoes to fill. Well let me tell you, she hit that one note, that was so amazing that even if she hadn't gotten anything else right we would still be open mouthed in awe and on our feet clapping. She is phenomenal and I can't wait to see what she surprises us with next.
