Last night the top 12 ladies and gentlemen of American Idol took the big stage as a group for the first time. Their assignment was a tribute to mega rock band the Rolling Stones. There was a plethora of kickass songs to choose from and this was a time for the performers to make a move — and make their mark.

Well, there were a lot of moves made, but only a few really took the reins and ran with it. Four out of six of the ladies kicked it, while only one of the men really had anything to offer.

My top picks for the night:

Siobhan Magnus: The dark horse has finally moved ahead of the pack. She did "Painted Black" and she was phenomenal. She was dark, haunting, riveting to watch and wowed us once again with hitting an incredible note that had the audience cheering uncontrollably. For the first time she outdid Crystal Bowersox who has been my favorite all along.

Didi Benami: She did "Fire" and really made it her own. Her voice sounded amazing, quirky, intense, sweet and dark all at the same time. The overall effect was almost eerie, and I loved it.

Aaron Kelly: Covered "Angie" and he was truly my surprise of the night. His tone was beautiful and powerful and he connected heart and soul with the song. It was haunting. He did an amazing job.

Crystal Bowersox: She did "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and her performance was spot on. She did not however, blow me away as she has on every other performance. It was an easy performance, good vocals, and while she is starting to show a little personality, she played it safe at a time when she should be staking her claim.
