A Nude Spread For A Cartoon Character? There's Something Wrong Here
Although I’m not a fan of Playboy, I’ve looked them over and am familiar with the articles and the center fold features. Playboy is tame compared with some of its more explicit competition. With today’s rude, crude and nude ethos, I thought I had seen all possible aspects of perversion.
“AP CHICAGO — Aye Carumba! Marge Simpson has done something that Homer might not like but will make Bart the proudest kid in his school: She's posed for Playboy magazine."
No, I was shocked when Playboy released their latest issue. All their usual fair with a second center fold spread. A “tasteful” rendition of Marge Simpson! Not only is she a cartoon Character, but an older woman with children, at that.
What in the world were they thinking, over at Playboy? Naked real women have become passé. So let’s use a 40-something cartoon character, instead?
Suspicious wives who catch their men taking a gander at Marge may long for the good old days, when he was interested in, you know, real women. How does one compete with a cartoon?
What were they thinking, over at the Associated Press, ending their piece with the idea that Bart would be proud? Bart would be proud of his mother for getting a spread in Playboy!
I think not.
My understanding of basic psychology is that a teenage boy seeing his mother naked causes problems. Also wouldn’t he be mortified knowing all his friends will see his mother naked?
This is supposed to be funny? I am dumbfounded at how far our moral compass has slipped as a society.
Personally, I’m less then amused and almost sick to my stomach.
