Halloween Costumes from the 1970s
Generation Xers (by broadest definition those born between 1961 and 1981) have demonstrated an early appetite for nostalgia. Reportedly, Hollywood especially loves the 80s and has already produced plenty of remakes of Gen X favorites like Fame and 90210.
With affection for the past in mind, here's a collection of photos featuring Gen Xers as kids in their Halloween costumes. Considering that Gen X is considered the most neglected generation in modern history, could it be that Gen X parents have contributed to what some consider the over-commercialization of the spooky holiday? With visions of razors in apples clouding our collective mind, maybe we're just determined to restore innocent fun to our kids' childhood experiences. After all, until this year, Halloween sales were on a steady incline for six years, and it has become the most popular holiday among adults.

By the way, what did you go as for Halloween back in the 60s, 70s or 80s? I was a Dutch girl or pilgrim practically ever year.
