Placebos For Everyone

Yin Yang by Petr KratochvilThe talk about the power of a placebo effect relates to the mindset of individuals. For anyone, still not convinced of the theory relating to “mind over matter,” than perhaps the recent report should be considered. Questions still linger for science as to why this happens with individuals - only to say that it does happen.

The power of any individuals mind is uncharted. In the fields of science, the ones that explore the brain, the consensus is only ten percent (or less) of the brain is used. Since there are six billion plus on this planet, and each person only uses ten percent of their brain power (!?), what is the full purpose of the brain?

Science over recent years has uncovered some secrets of the brain. The revelations have come after some have suffered a stroke or heart attack, which makes the work “ick,” but it is essential to learn. How have scientists/doctors gathered more information? The scientists/doctors have recorded recovery time. The determination that has been reached (once a patient has been able to communicate again in some cases) comes down to the activities individuals have done (painting, reading, math) that stimulating the brain. The recovery time for patients relates to how quickly the brain can “rewire” the organic body to be fully functional again. That is truly astonishing.

Now, I know I am no scientist or doctor, but how does that relate (further) to the placebo effect? Is there a connection? Strictly theoretical here … I think…yes. See, most of us do not fancy going to a hospital (for whatever reason) and are eager to get out. In order to do so, one has to be healthy enough for a discharge. The mindset begins to overcome that which puts us there in the first place. This could be “mind over matter,” or a placebo effect. The human body is matter, or if you choose, organic matter.

When the broadcasts go out, things to the effect of “you are what you eat” or “deep discounts here,” set individuals minds. What a heck of a connect that could be! Placebos for everyone!
