The Missing Secret
Long ago, in old Baghdad, a Master was deep in his meditation when a disciple forced him out of the meditation. Master opened his eyes and said:
“What was so important that you forced me to come out of meditation?
Disciple replied:
“Master, I am leaving for my home and require some money so that I can provide for my children” “Don’t you see that I am even poorer than you? My clothes are torn and I don’t have money even to buy a new shirt. How can I give you money” Master replied “I know Master that you are poorer than me but you can manifest anything at will. I want you to manifest few Dinars for me so that I can fulfill my needs. Master closed his eyes and raised his hand in the air and after a while he opened his hand and it was full of coins.
This simple story about a great Sufi Master reminds me how quickly manifestation can takes place and even without any conscious effort. What is however, perplexing is the fact that Masters are able to manifest anything while at the same time remaining detached from owning anything. One of the ways through which our mind keeps on trapping us and keep us as its slaves is to trick us into ownership. When we develop ownership for everything in life- we start to trap ourselves and we don’t feel freedom. Freedom is not simply our ability to do whatever we want to do but it also includes our spiritual and psychological freedom too. A billionaire may have all the resources in the world to do whatever he or she wants to do but can he find himself free from his wealth?
Probably anyone who has learned about the manifestation and law of attraction knows that manifestation takes place when our thoughts are propagated to the nature through our minds. We think and develop mental pictures of what we wanted these pictures are than released to the universe to work for us. This is what the modern self-help industry and law of attraction gurus will tell you but there is much more to it.
How can a person who is living in an abject poverty with no love or desire for money can create it at will? The above true story about one of the greatest spiritual masters do indicates something else which most of us are missing.
