Heavenly SkyThe first decade of the millennium has not been a good one for God. God and religion have taken hit after hit from bestselling books like The Da Vinci Code (2003), which also became a top selling movie (2006) starring Tom Hanks.

But now the decade ends with a story many are calling a miracle.

As reported by the Colorado Springs Gazette and ABC News, Tracy Hermanstorfer and her newborn, Coltyn, both died and then mysteriously revived minutes later.

This unique Christmas Eve mom and baby story starts when the mom, after receiving anesthetic, asks to take a quick rest. As she closed her eyes, things turned for the worst as she went into cardiac arrest. After minutes of trying to save the mother to no avail, the doctors turned their attention to the baby, performing an emergency C-section. Despite their efforts, the baby had no pulse and was considered a still born.

Miraculously, after the baby was born, the mother came back to life after being clinically dead for about four to five minutes. As the doctors and nurses scratched their heads and tended to the mother, the father, Mike Hermanstorfer, held his lifeless baby boy. Then, as miraculously as the mother came back to life, the baby took his first breath in his father’s hands

Dr. Stephanie Martin told ABC in an interview that he couldn't explain why the mom went into cardiac arrest nor how both mom and baby were revived. The emergency C-section had been a Hail Mary effort to at least save the child despite the mother’s "death." Medical tests performed since the successful birth have ruled out all typical causes.

So, has God whipped up a Christmas miracle? Is this amazing story of life one of God’s doing?
