Consumerist Gets Extreme Home Makeover
The folks over at the Consumerist must have called Ty Pennington for an extreme home makeover. If you mosey on over to the site, you'll notice a brand spanking new design that's clean, well organized in terms of navigation and very user friendly from a graphic design standpoint (image sizes, font selection, color palate, etc.)
For those of you who aren't frequent Consumerist visitors, the site aims to inform consumers about the top consumer-facing issues of the day. They provide "consumer-driven advice about dealing with everything from non-existent customer service to onerous cell-phone contracts to ever-shrinking (and ever-more-expensive) grocery products." In their words:
The Consumerist highlights the persistent, shameless gaffes of modern consumerism - and the latest scams, rip-offs, hot deals and freebies. We also encourage our readers to tell us about their everyday experiences with absurdities of consumer culture - and suggest ways for them to fight back.If you are a frequent visitor to the site and are worried about the social connections you've made as a result of being a member of The Consumerist community, don't fret. The editors posted a note stating that commenters will receive an email with instructions about how to log on to the new site and reset their password.
Already, the community is raving about the redesign (from comment section):
- New website is tremendously sexy. Rock on, Consumerist!
- Awesome!!! I'm lovin' it!
- Whoa - I thought I was on the wrong site.
- Looks great. Much cleaner. I'll have to dig in and see how it works. Change is good.
