Tumblr Announces BlackBerry App
On Wednesday morning Tumblr announced the release of a BlackBerry app to integrate with Tumblr's blogging platform. And here I was, thinking that everyone on Tumblr used an iPhone!
It's developed by Mobelux, the same guys behind the Tumblr iPhone app, so while I don't have a BlackBerry myself to test it on, I would expect a pretty high level of performance. The iPhone one works pretty great (more or less), and I would expect the same level of performance from the BlackBerry app.
While it doesn't look quite as slick as the iPhone version (who would have thought?), it's pretty nice as far as BlackBerry apps go, and it appears to have identical functionality.
It's surprising, however, with the growth of Tumblr that we haven't seen a dramatic rise in the number of applications (mobile and web) taking advantage of the API. Tumblr has some pretty great features for such a streamlined platform, and it would be nice to see a proliferation of new tech products taking advantage of them.
