Twitter Eyes Irish in Pursuit of Green

As reported last year, Twitter has announced that it will locate its International headquarters in the city of Dublin, and has hired its first employee. Laurence O’Brien, the new financial controller for Twitter's EMEA operations was hired in October for the Dublin headquarters, which office location has yet to be confirmed. Twitter plans to host a tea time event, to properly entice the interest of Irish developers.
The event will be hosted on February 23 from 7-10pm, at the Dublin offices of the software firm, Engine Yard, located on Barrow Street. Members of the local developer community are asked to register for the event, and to offer their experience and areas of interest (ie, REST API, Search API, Streaming API and Twitter for Websites) through a short questionnaire on Twitter's website.
This announcement means Twitter will be joining other internet firms in establishing offices in Ireland, the self-proclaimed, "Internet Capital of Europe"... firms which include Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Zynga, to name a few.
Twitter tweets, indeed.
