WordPress Offers Real-Time RSS Updating
In an effort to get content published on WordPress out to readers faster, the development team has announced real-time "push" updates to RSS feeds.
The technology, named PubSubHubbub, or PuSH, works similarly to services like rssCloud that immediately notify subscriber services of updates to your blog. This way, rather than wait for the service to crawl the feed for new updates, they'll be pushed through in a matter of seconds after hitting the "publish" button.
PuSH support has been automatically enabled on all blogs hosted on the WordPress domain. Bloggers using the software on their own servers can install the PuSHPress plugin to add support for the feature.
Meanwhile, expect hastier and more emphatic redactions as bloggers push out half-baked content to your RSS feeds even faster.
