Blog Focus: Words From NFL Winners and Losers on Thanksgiving Day
For the fourth straight season, the three NFL games on Thanksgiving Day were not competitive, so fans were either very satisfied or very depressed after spending the day gorging and watching football.
Here's what some team bloggers had to say:
Pride of Detroit: "It was tough to see Matthew Stafford and the offense struggle so much today after playing so well last week, but I will point out two things: 1) Green Bay is obviously a much better team than Cleveland; and 2) Stafford is still banged up. While he did tough it out and play the entire game, Stafford's facial expression throughout much of the day revealed that he was in a good amount of pain."
Acme Packing Company: "They (the Lions) didn't do a good job exploiting Harris's absence, in part because their No. 2 and No. 3 WRs aren't very good. WR Dennis Northcutt had one big 47 yard reception against CB Jarrett Bush, he dropped another one with Bush in coverage that should have been a 1st down, but then only caught 1 of the other 3 passes thrown his way for 5 yards. WR Bryant Johnson only had 1 reception for 17 yards on 3 pass attempts."
Silver and Black Pride: "The Cowboy System was just too much for the hapless Raiders. Raider Nation, they look worse with Gradkowski. He cannot evade the rush and his throws were late, if at all."
Blogging the Boys: "With all the firepower being efficiently managed by Tony Romo, the Cowboys were never in serious jeopardy during the game. Romo was back to his old self - hitting receivers in stride so they could pick up valuable yards after the catch instead of spraying the ball high or off-target. When Romo has his timing and rhythm down like he did today, the Cowboys offense can be a juggernaut."
