Chad Ochocinco Gives Up $250,000 To Compete On Dancing With The Stars
The new Dancing With the Stars cast includes, as always, a few sports stars — Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco, ESPN reporter Erin Andrews and Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek.
While the show always provides a boost in the semi-recognizable department to its competitors, it rarely (ever?) costs them money to be on the show. Ochocinco, never one to shy away from the cameras, is sacrificing the Bengals' offseason conditioning program to do the show.
Not a huge deal — it's not as if Ocho will be be sitting around somewhere. Training for the show is pretty intense. But his successful completion of the offseason program would've triggered a $250,000 bonus in his contract. Having grandmas across the country become familiar with him and shortly forget about him after the show ends must have a pretty high value.
