Partly because of that easing up, it took them until 0:43 to get the game down to a single possession. They pressed again, but UNI beat it and Ali Farokhmanesh was all alone behind the arc and drained it, effectively ending KU's chances.

That was the Jayhawks' last foolish error, and it was a big one. Tyrel Reed, the lone player back on defense between Farokhmanesh and the hoop, backed into the lane on the assumption that a drive into the lane for a layup was inevitable.

Had he paused and thought for the splittest of seconds, he would have remembered that Farokhmanesh was a player who, in his two year career, has taken almost 75% of his shots from three-point range. Ali had no intentions of taking it to the paint.

Keep an eye on the Panthers because it certainly stands to reason that if they can take down the overall No. 1 seed, they can defeat anybody.
