Larry Johnson Signs With the Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals have long been the home of NFL misfits, and in recent years, it seems, they have quit making an effort to prove otherwise.
The team is reportedly on the verge of signing former Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson, who was released after numerous off-field incidents, culminating with some malfeasance with his Twitter account. He joins names like Chris Henry, Frostee Rucker, Tank Johnson, Odell Thurman and others who have found second (or third or fourth) chances in Cincy.
Johnson could replace injured Bengal Cedric Benson, who came to Cincinnati after his own troubled tenure with the Bears, only to revive his career.
Johnson, 30, was once one of the most productive backs in the NFL, but has had two straight season marred by injuries. He also had a large number of carries in his peak years, making it a question as to how much time he has left as a productive running back.
