Mike ScioscaDealing with injuries and leading an improbable turnaround after replacing a fired manager are what led to Mike Sciosca and Jim Tracy winning the American League and National League Manager of the Year awards today.

Sciosca, who led the Angels to 97 wins despite losing pitchers Kelvim Escobar, Joe Saunders, Ervin Santana and John Lackey at different times throughout the season due to injuries, won the award for the second time. Ron Gardenhire of the Minnesota Twins finished second.

Tracy took over the Colorado Rockies before the All-Star break when Clint Hurdle was fired and led them to the playoffs. The Rockies also just finalized a three-year contract with Tracy shortly after the award was announced.
