Tim Tebow wowed the crowd for his spectacular plays and for rallying the Denver Broncos into contention at the recent NFL playoffs. He's also made a lot of fans on and off the field, and garnered a huge number of followers along the way in just a short period of time after joining the NFL.

Now there's news that his next big play passing drive is going to happen outside of the United States. And the lucky recipient? It's the Philippines!

Tim Tebow and his foundation, in partnership with Cure International, is building a hospital for poor children in Davao City, Philippines. The said hospital is aptly named Tebow Cure Hospital. The cost to build the 200-bed capacity hospital is estimated to be 3 million dollars.

Good role models seem to be under-appreciated and are a dying breed these days. In a world where self-promotion, obnoxious behavior and extravagance is glorified and perpetrated in the media, it's refreshing to know that there are still individual athletes who are willing to take on the challenge of trying to be positive role models and doing the right thing.

To note, Tim Tebow was born in the Philippines from parents who have been missionaries to that area since 1985.

Kudos to you Tim Tebow. The society and the world desperately need a great person, and a kind and humble athlete like you.
