Notre Dame's Reward for Their Season Might be a Trip to Detroit
Charile Weis's future at Notre Dame might be non-existent, particularly after a demoralizing loss to Connecticut over the weekend.
But the Irish still are bowl eligible, and their are rumors they might end up in the Little Caesar's Bowl, formerly the Motor City Bowl, at Ford Field in Detroit.
Central Michigan has become a yearly staple, playing in three straight. Other programs who have made recent appearances include Purdue, Akron, Florida Atlantic, Bowling Green, Connecticut and Northwestern. Certainly not the most elite company for one of the country's most elitist football programs.
Heading into this season, with one of the top quarterbacks in the country in Jimmy Clausen, as well as a great receiver tandem in Golden Tate and Michael Floyd, I don't think anyone was expecting the team would be heading to Detroit, and in all actuality, lucky to be getting a berth in the Little Caesar's Bowl, if that's where they end up.
Still no word on whether Weis will be coaching the team in said bowl game.
