Sponsors Sticking With Tiger Woods
Precious little information has come out clearing up what, exactly, led up to Tiger Woods car accident Thanksgiving weekend.
TMZ reported that Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, caused his facial injuries and was fighting with him, allegedly upset about reports that he had a mistress, when he crashed his SUV. Woods released a statement on his Web site, stating that his wife acted 'courageously' and that he was at fault for the accident.
Woods has still yet to talk to police about the incident, has hired an attorney and police are trying to get medical records from the hospital where he was treated.
So ... basically, no one knows anything, except for Woods of course, who has a vested interest in keeping things quiet. The only real news to come out today was the fact that his sponsors are all supporting him:
Woods' major endorsers, including Nike, Gatorade and Gillette, lined up on Monday to state their support for the golf great.
There's not much reason for them to not support him at this point. Even if some truth about the incident does come out, it seems strange that any would pull the plug on his career as a spokesperson anyway. Plenty of celebrity endorsers have had adultery accusations thrown at them
