It's that time of year again when major league baseball teams start rifling through other team's rosters to figure out how they can snatch to help them get to October and hopefully, plan a parade.

Here are some of the latest news and notes around potentially baseball trades and rumorsHouston Astros first baseman Lance Berkman has waived his no-trade clause and a deal is in place to move him to the New York Yankees, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney on Friday. The Yankees also grabbed veteran outfielder Austin Kearns from the Cleveland Indians on Friday night for a player to be named later.

Los Angeles Dodgers are apparently in talks with the Chicago Cubs about a possible deal that would bring veteran left-hander Ted Lilly back to the team that originally drafted him in the 23rd round in 1996, according to ESPN.

The Tampa Bay Rays have reportedly acquired setup man Chad Qualls from the Arizona Diamondbacks to a player to be named later, a source told ESPN.com's Jayson Stark.

The Chicago White Sox acquired right-handed starter Edwin Jackson from the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday for righty Daniel Hudson and lefty David Holmberg.

The Diamondbacks also traded away an All-Star pitcher for the second time in a week, sending right-hander Edwin Jackson to the Chicago White Sox on Friday for rookie Daniel Hudson and prospect David Holmberg. They also shipped three-time All-Star Dan Haren to the Los Angeles Angels for left-hander Joe Saunders and three other players last week.
