Leaves are Starting to Fall in Boston and Some Are Wondering if the Red Sox Will Do the Same
Crisp air is invading parts of the upper east cost and in Boston, while a hoodie might mean football weather and Coach Bill Bellichick, to others it means the Fall Classic is right around the corner.
However, while the Red Sox were once the best team in the league, many in Red Sox Nation are wondering if team is going to even make it to the playoffs.
The Sox are 3.5 games behind the Yankees for first place in the AL East and are holding Tampa Bay at four games in the wild card. Just a few days ago, the Sox were on a skid that had many in Boston wondering if this team would even make the playoffs.
Last night, a Josh Beckett-led effort gave the Sox some padding in the wild card and now, all is well in Red Sox Nation.
This is the up and down, emotional roller-coaster that contending baseball teams go through, especially a team with dedicated fans like Boston. It's a curse, despite the curse being wiped out in that magic '04 season.
Now that the games count, eyes are on the Sox ace staff and are wondering if this highly paid group of athletes are going to pull it off or tank, just like fans expect them to do prior to the magical season of '04.
Guess all we have to do is sit, wait and root for the boys to hopefully gain momentum at the right time.
Ah, the joys of the Fall Classic.
