The word Accident is used to describe something that has resulted in an injury or something that has a marked effect or consequences for someone through no deliberate fault of their own or anyone else.

Insurance companies often highlight accidents to encourage people to take out health insurance or Term Life Insurance. Certain people who seem to have frequent accidents are often referred to as being accident prone.
