Tablet computers are not new to those in the PC world, but to the general public they are the newest innovation in computer technology. Tablet Computers and PCs are somewhat different, but are often used interchangeably.

Tablet computers have differences that distinguish them from tablet PCs and laptops. This computing device has touch screens and most do not include keyboards. A main detail is that their function is not to produce content, but to adapt already created work. Their small stature and lack of software capabilities mean that they are not capable of replacing desktop computers.

Tablet Personal Computers are fully functional stylus or pen-based technology that can replace desktop computers. They are available in various forms: booklet, slates, convertibles and hybrids. Booklet tablets have two screens and are used as planners and leisure internet activities. Slates are used with touch screens or external keyboards and constructed to resist temperature changes and for optimal mobility. Hybrids and convertibles are the most popular due to their versatility.

Tablet Computers and PCs are constantly becoming updated with newer enhancements. The newer products solve issues from older models and have updated software.
