When Google took their shot at conquering the social media market and released Buzz, there was a lot of (shitty pun intended) buzz about how they didn't code a version of it that would operate on Android operating systems that didn't start with a 2.

That changed last week.

Android Buzz

While I was off at SXSW chasing music and tech, Google announced the availability of a version of Buzz for Android 1.6 and later (sorry, no joy still for you sucker M.C.s still stuck at 1.5 - yell at your phone mfg). You'd think they would have pulled that off back at launch, considering the fact that the number of Android phones running 2.1 is pretty slim, but hey - at least they got there.

In the meantime though, I went from show to show posting updates using @boneinthefan instead of my Buzz feed.  And with the amount of time that I and others struggled getting Twitter updates out, I wish Google had gotten this together a bit sooner, because I would have been all over any workable alternative.

Still, better late than never, I suppose.
