Google Releases Gesture Search for Android 2.0 and Above

Well, this is kinda cool, even if I'm still stuck using Android 1.6 on my G1. Google just released something called Gesture Search, a Google Labs app for Android 2.0 and above.

Somehow reminiscent of an old Palm device (like the ancient Palm Pilot, remember that?), Gesture Search lets you find a contact, app, bookmark, or music track just by drawing gestures on the touch screen.

The photos below, from the Google Mobile Blog, are worth a thousand words. Or at least seven or eight.

I didn't think it'd happen, but checking out some of the new Android 2.0 apps (and knowing my G1 is a bit underpowered) is starting to give me a wicked case of Nexus One envy.
