Apple iPad and iPhone Apps Crash More Than Android

In a report published by Forbes, some rather interesting statistics were published about apps crashing on Android or iOS devices. The comparison is another spark in the debate about Android fragentation versus iOS' well known stability. As seen above, the amount of different operating systems for Android is huge when compared to the amount of iOS builds in the mix, but when you look at the actual number of crashes as a whole by either iOS or Android, iOS has the lion's share. To be even more specific, iOS 5.0.1 has the largest amount of app crashes than any other operating system between Android or iOS previous with 28.64%.
You may be asking, depending which side of the fence you're sitting on, how this data was compiled. The data has been collected between December 1st - 15th 2011 by Crittercism, a mobile app monitoring company. The app data collected in the chart below represents 214 million apps from November 2011 - December 2011, and also shows an increase in crashes from both platforms, but the most with iOS.

If you're a developer, and have built apps for either or both operating systems, what have you found? Is there a major difference in developing apps for iOS 5 versus Android, or even earlier iOS versions for that matter? Let us know in the comments.
