Oh, our aching head... egg nog is a harsh mistress, someone once said.  Actually, that person told us that gravity is the harsh mistress, but egg nog certainly helps you to the ground as well. 

Maybe it's the season for creamy booze that makes the blogspeak this morning so swirly.  Or maybe everyone else is just regretting their weekend bender.  After all, it sounds like Yelp would like to take back that one-night stand with Google...

TechCrunch — Michael Arrington reports this morning that Yelp has left Google standing at the altar in front of Father Elvis and the Judy Garland witness, calling off their proposed sale to the search giant.  

Engadget — Paul Miller passes along the email from Barnes & Noble to nook buyers. Apparently, nook shipments are as sluggish as the device itself, leaving many nooks anywhere but home for Christmas.  B&N is offering a $100 gift card to those left without electronic ink to decorate the tree.

Brainstorm Tech — Don't irritate the Israeli border guards or else they'll shoot your MacBook three times.  Philip Elmer-DeWitt provides the video proof.

Slashdot — StatCounter adds up the browser stats and thinks Firefox 3.5 just became the top browser version in the world, pushing ahead due to European adoption.
