Gmail Lets You Get Attached While Offline
After the Green Robot Updates, now Gmail is Back with a new update. Now Gmail allow you to send attachments while offline.
Earlier this year, Gmail introduced Google Gears, a technology which allowed you to work offline on your emails. Google brought it to solve the network connection outage while you're working, letting you do anything you could offline. Almost.
But until now, a Gmail user was not able to attach any files to the email. Now If you have Offline Gmail enabled in your Gmail Labs, attachments work just the way you would expect them to whether you are online or offline. You can add attachments as normal by clicking on the 'Attach a File' link when composing new messages. Just add the attachment and send your message.
You'll also notice that when you're offline you won't be able to include inline images, and all your mail now goes through the Outbox.
If you haven't tried offline access yet, visit the Labs tab and follow these instructions to get started:
1. Select "Enable" next to Offline Gmail.
2. Click Save Changes.
3. After your browser reloads, you'll see a new "Offline" link in the upper right-hand corner of the Gmail page, next to your user name. Click this link to start the offline setup process and download Gears if you don't already have it.
So now if you suddenly get disconnected from a flaky WiFi network, you can keep working until the network returns.
