AMD Tops Supercomputer Power Rankings
The 34th TOP500 supercomputers list is about to be released on 17th November 2009 at SC09 Conference to be held at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.
AMD has acquired number one position, thereby proving their supremacy over Intel for at least next 6 months when the next list will be released by top500.org. The #1 supercomputer on the basis of configuration and performance is located at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility.
Out of top 5 supercomputers, three are in US, one in Germany and one in China. India has 3 supercomputers in total at position: 26, 137 and 247.
