Online Testing Failures for India's Premier Business School
IIM (Indian Institute of Management) is the premier and costliest institute in India for Business Management Studies. It attracts candidates not only from various states of India but also from abroad to study at campuses in Calcutta, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow and Shillong.
All these IIMs unanimously decided to conduct the prestigious entrance exam famous as CAT (Common Aptitude Test) online with the help by subcontracting the complete project to a company known as Prometric. The exams are being held from 28th Nov. to 3rd Dec.
The first four days have been very problematic for the candidates sitting for examination at various examination centers across the country. The online exam could not be loaded on the centre PCs in most locations and became quite frustrating for candidates as well as the IIM business colleges. By the end of the fourth day, many of the centers had to be cancelled thus creating more panic for the aspiring candidates.
Although the government has asked for a detailed investigation report on what has gone wrong and the reasons for that, IIMs as of now are blaming the virus attacks and poor infrastructure at examination centers that was the responsibility of the IT agency Prometric.
