Artist Maps Nuclear Explosions From 1945–1998
While this video first made the rounds earlier this month, it feels particularly appropriate to share today. Trinity, the first atomic bomb, was tested sixty-five years ago today, on July 16, 1945. This animation, created by Japanese artist Isao Hashimoto, maps 2053 nuclear tests and explosions over a period of fourteen and a half meditative minutes.
