Crazy New MGMT "Flash Delirium" Video
The video for MGMT's new single "Flash Delirium" is crazy and totally awesome. Conceived by Swedish director Andreas Nilsson, it features weird old folks in uniform, poodles, and a giant grey eel coming out of Ben Goldwasser's throat.
As the video goes on, the level of insanity is ramped up to an extreme. What begins as a mildly absurd video turns into a bizarre, sci-fi fever dream. It's a perfect fit for MGMT's psychedelic electronic pop.
I don't typically like music videos that have a narrative, however loosely defined. A music video is hardly the right venue to tell a meaningful story. But this is just so delightfully off-the-wall it's almost impossible not to love it.
Check out the video now on MGMT's website, where you can also stream their upcoming album in its entirety.
