You Make Me Feel So Young
I honestly don't have a lot of memories of being a kid. Call it self-preservation or just bad brain activity, but my pre-teen years are largely blocked out.
What I do remember, with perfect clarity, is the first time I laid eyes on Officer Tom Hanson, special detective for Children's crimes. My friend Tara told me about him. She was more partial to his softer, funnier partner, Doug Rehall (Peter DeLuise) but the first time I watched them in action, I knew Tom was the one for me. He was young and strong. He fought crime but still seemed a little dangerous. Officer Tom Hanson made me feel things in my belly that my 12 year old self had never really experienced before-even though I had my first kiss in the school coat closet a whole two years earlier. I knew I must find more information about this man on my television screen. What I did not know is that the information would begin a life-long love affair with People's Sexiest Man Alive-Mr. Johnny Depp.
Here I am, a grown woman- who is happily married might I add, and yet I still get weak in the knees over Johnny. I wish I was a little more mature than that twelve year old girl. But it seems when it comes to Johnny Depp, I never will be. It doesn't matter if he is dressed like a Pirate or a psycho killer, he is still the sexiest man alive every year in my eyes. He has the incredible talent to make you believe is the person on screen-no matter how different those characters may be. As a real person, he is quiet and brooding. He's the guy we all loved in college but were afraid to actually date because...you know... he kinda smelled. He's the guy who played his guitar and seemed all dark and twisty but despite (or because of) the eau de self-loathing was strangely-sooooo hot.
